Featuring a buttery hazelnut taste that becomes more pronounced with age, this double cream Brie cheese has a creamy body that is covered in a smooth, tender rind. Wonderful for frittatas, quiches, sandwiches, and lasagna.
Ingredients
- 1 (125 g) Alexis de Portneuf Brise du Matin Brie cheese
- 60 ml (1/4 cup) maple syrup, preferably dark
- 5 ml (1 tsp) fresh rosemary, very finely chopped
- 5 ml (1 tsp) fresh oregano, very finely chopped
- 5 ml (1 tsp) fresh thyme, very finely chopped
- 5 ml (1 tsp) fresh chives, very finely chopped
- 1 clove of garlic, very finely chopped
- Salt and freshly ground pepper, to taste
- 125 ml (1/2 cup) pecans, coarsely chopped
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the maple syrup in a bowl and add the rest of the ingredients, except for the Brie cheese. Mix well.
- Put the Alexis de Portneuf Brise du Matin Brie cheese in a baking dish and spread the mixture over the top.
- Bake for about 25 minutes, until the center is soft and melted.
- Serve with crackers or toasted bread.
